It was a bright September morning, and four GG runners and riders gathered in Feltham for a mega mission...

Mr A needed us to do a little tidying up. This is a major understatement. We climbed the stairs only to find there a real mountain to climb - a mountain of clothes, sheets, curtains, blankets, shoes, cushions (including one very lovely fluffy pink one) and assorted miscellaneous other items. It was a real mixed bag, our task being to stuff it all into about 66 unmixed bags...

We took up stations - Michelle and JP in one of the bedrooms, Kate on the landing and Jenna squeezing herself into the doorway of the other bedroom where piles and piles of stuff behind the door was making getting inside a bit of a challenge. As Jenna passed items from she pulled through the doorway, the rest of us grabbed bin liners and filled them up by type. Never seen so many bars of soap in one house.

After a little while we were making real progress, sifting and sorting through heaps of paraphernalia and bringing some order in the chaos. As we made inroads and finally gained access to the small bedroom we were amazed to see how many bags we were filling. There was so much stuffing going on you’d think it was Sunday lunch - all that was lacking was the rest of the roast dinner.

Having finally packed our bags, it was almost time to leave. All that remained was to stack them up on the bunk bed in the smaller bedroom (an exercise in Bag Tetris) to create some space and enable a full sorting exercise for Mr A (and hopefully another troop of GG volunteers).

Mr A kept us hydrated with water as our efforts had us sweating as much as on the run/ride there, and was delighted with our efforts and motivated to get the next phase of the work underway. After a customary selfie we disbanded, back on our bikes (or legs) to enjoy the Sunday weather on our way home for lunch. Yep, it was time for us to get stuffed.
