Lord Sebastian Crow

Like all good ideas, this one formed in the pub after a GoodGym Lambeth session. Lambeth Country show was coming up and they were having a scarecrow competition, the theme was Rio All Stars and the rest was up to us. This was music to our ears as if there are two things GoodGym loves it’s a Pun and making stuff, this ticked both boxes so we busily discussed many different pun filled ideas over a jar or three. Katie Welford then gathered all the suggestions and put it to a vote the following week at GoodGym Lambeth and by far and away the overall winner was Lord Sabastian Crow (Dawn Gibson suggestion and winner of the inaugural monthly s*** prize of the month competition).

So tasked with some wood, hey/straw and a sewing machine a crack team of myself, Emma Presley and Dawn came to my gaff to create Mr Crow on a craft filled Wednesday evening. At about 22:00 he was made and we were very proud of him. Special shout out to the skilfully created snazzy shorts he worn that Emma created that night and Dawns impressive Olympic torch.

So between Wednesday night and Saturday he lived in my flat which gave my housemate an almighty fright when he saw it for the first time around Midnight on Friday evening. Come Saturday it was a glorious morning and with the help from fellow scarecrow makers he was up and looking very trendy. When I came to see him on Sunday he was looking slightly forloan as I think some of the duck tape holding him together had started to wane however I like to think he had just enjoyed a few too many Chucklehead Ciders the night before.

Anyhow results are in shortly, fingers crossed he will get a rosette at the very least. A cracking overall showing from GoodGym Lambeth, already planning next years creation. Tom
