On a beautiful bright bright night 18 of GoodGyms finest headed deep into Dalston for wood moving mission at BootStrap and 5k blast.

Bootstrap Company believes in the power of creativity and micro-enterprises. They combine these elements to form a vital asset within Dalston. Their core activities are focused on three things: Supporting lndividuals and Small to Medium Enterprises, Piloting innovative educational projects and Creating a space for cultural exchange.

Our task for this evening was a simple one, move a large amount of wood from the car park into storage to enable easy access to remaining compost that had been donated to secret seed society. Compost that will be used to continue to make Hackney a prettier, greener more oxygenated bee breeding borough.

We headed towards the beautiful red sky, through London fields and along the long stretch of road to Dalston. A quick stop to see how the bulbs and trees were getting on that we had only planted a few weeks ago and we were off again.

We arrived safe and sound, gloves were handed out, a briefing by the ever welcoming Amy and we were off. 40mins to lift and shift.

3 wheelbarrows worked in unison whilst the others danced carefully with the wood clasped firmly in their hands. Little by little the once mountainous pile shrank and shrank and shrank until...... As if by magic, nothing remained but dust...

We said our goodbyes and headed off into the bright bright red sky searching for that deep burn that I know you all crave.

A request for an activity involving raising ones heart rate and lampposts. As if I needed to be asked twice.

Onward into the night with knees high and heels even higher.

This is the life of a GoodGymers.
