Ivy leaf I can fly

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

On paper this sounded like a nice, quick mission for a sunny day. Ms E had ivy growing over, and into, her bathroom window. She is visually impaired so the lack of light was really impacting her ability to move around.

On arrival, I realised the window was on the first floor, not ground floor as I was expecting! I extended the ladder and got half way up before deciding any further would be too far to fall.

I don't like to leave a job half done, so sent an SOS to Goodgym Southwark in the hopes that someone might be available to come and hold the ladder for a bit. Amazingly, David jumped straight on it, got on his bike and was with me within 10 minutes.

After a socially distanced dance around to ensure I was 2 metres up the ladder before David approached, I was able to get to the top of the ladder and finish the job for Ms E. She was extremely grateful.

I forgot a before picture, so the pictures show what I was able to do before David's arrival, and then the finished job. You can see his assistance made all the difference!
