Mission

It’s raining potatoes

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.

The first hurdle was overcome through the help of a friendly neighbour who came to loosen the lock that had rusted shut, so we could get to the gardening tools and let the mission commence.

Ruth and I divided tasks, one being the removal of weeds and moss from the patio and the other to clear a soil patch from weeds. We powered through a bit of rain and Mrs R kindly refuelled us with Twix’s and fizzy pop.

Upon digging, we found a handful of potatoes and a couple of onions! We carefully replanted these once the masses of weeds were removed.

Overall Mrs R was pleased with the result and looks forward to the good work being continued around the rest of the garden!
