After a few weeks of plogging around Danson Park we decided to give Lesnes Abbey Woods a bit of TLC. I had read on a local page that there was lots of litter being left in the woods and around the Abbey Ruins.

A small group of us met at the entrance to the woods as we distributed litter pickers. We had a carrier bag each so we didn’t have to share bin bags and headed into the woods. Whilst waiting for everyone we had already collected a bag full of litter from the side of the path. Walking through the woods, there wasn’t much rubbish, but once we reached the main open area by the ruins and cafe there was a lot more rubbish to be collected. We split up and went in loops around the abbey ruins before heading back up to where we met. We had 2 bin bags full at the end.
