Louise, Emma and I arrived at Hull Road park on a glorious afternoon to help St Nicks continue their beck maintenance. This time we weren't digging any piles. No-no. We were in the waders and straight in the beck. St Nicks needed help clearing some overgrown weeds to allow more diverse vegetation to thrive.

Me and Emma got kitted up in waders and got stuck in. Louise and Sarah didn't, but still valiantly "braved" the nettles on the bank side. We made great progress in removing the weeds on one side of the channel and even received some compliments from people.

After 45 minutes, me and Emma decided to wade to the other side of the beck. The results were mixed. Emma got over in good form, but as you can see from the pictures, I may have got stuck.

Regardless we managed to clear a large area of weeds, and have a blast while doing it!
