Mission

I can see clearly now the Bown has gone!

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.

On a beautiful Sunny morning in London the powerful team of Patrick and Paul formed again in West Hampstead to help Kathleen clean some windows and have a tidy up in her garden. Patrick had already ran 5.5 miles at 8am to a mission in Newham and then got the overground over to North-West Landan! Whereas Paul ran 4.5 miles in a sober state from Holloway west and west again. Goodgym had assembled!

Patrick had of course been to this mission location before so he knew the layout, the residences and the carer. Paul as always followed the strong man's lead. Kathleen informed us the main task of the day was to clean the inside and outsides of the window, with an amazing array of tools supplied by Camden Council. They briefly stopped to watch a spider eat a fly it had caught, Paul then decided spiders were his favourite animal - picture above.

The beautiful one level property is in a L shape and has lots of windows, the strong man and PB got to work washing the outside of the windows with the traditional fairy, water and cloth. The inside would be done with special wipes so Kathleen's beautiful curtains weren't damaged by water. It quickly became apparent that Patrick was by far superior at cleaning said windows than Paul ever could be. After 2-3 sets of windows each 'cleaned' it became further apparent that Paul had somehow made the windows even dirtier than they had originally been. At this point Paul admitted his poor skills and asked Kathleen if he could weed because he knew how to do that one - say said yes with a smile.

Due to the terrible work of Paul's window cleaning the strong man had to redo all of the formers work - ooooops! Patrick could see clearly now the Bown had gone!

After a quick talk about politics and a slice of cake with Kathleen & Cosa the pair finished the jobs (well more so in Patrick's case). Everyone said there goodbyes, Paul got a rose for his bag and then Patrick led the way to the tube station (past a beautiful market in West Hampstead where the pair got some cracking filo pastry wraps with nice vegs in - yum!). Onto Victoria and the next mission of the day! Mission out!

P.s Patrick is only going to break Paul's record for the most good deeds in a month, the word on the goodgym vine is that 30 is on the cards - wow amazing my man! Give Patrick a cheer here!
