3 Goodgymers returned to the Lord Leycester Hospital to help with some more furniture removal and gardening.

The big task of packing away all of the Lord Leycester Hospital's items ahead of the refurbishment project beginning was continued today. There were lots of odds and ends that needed to be stowed away in St James's Chapel including some pictures from the walls, a 16th century bench which was surprisingly heavy, a table, some large outdoor lanterns, 2 chairs, a wall mounted plaque and a small cupboard.

With all this safely tucked away, the next challenge was trying to lock the door to the chapel with the incredible key that looked like something out of Charles Dickens or Harry Potter. This task defeated Katherine but thankfully James got the knack of the door and managed to lock it.

The next task was helping to save the box hedges in the garden which were being attacked by box tree caterpillars. This involved searching through the box tree leaves, trying to spot the well camouflaged critters and removing them by hand.

We then had a jog back towards St Nick's park with an extra look around the park to finish off our session, getting a little bit soggy from the rain towards the end - but we found a nice sheltered spot under the trees for a cool down.

Many congratulations to Nigel who completed his 100th good deed today - he's got wings!
