Some people spend thier Saturday mornings having a lay in, not these eager bunch of GoodGymers who were rearing to go, some even fresh from parkrun.

All arriving at Beecroft school within minutes of each other it wasn’t long before we set about the various tasks. Many of us who have been before were not so used to seeing the place in daylight, and it was a welcome change. Some got to digging soil straight away, others began clearing the rubble transferring it to the skip in the wheelbarrow (one with a great very flat tire) not so easy, while the rest created a stepping stone path and put all the garden waste into brown bins.

The work was soon apparent and we even had a chance to stop for a quick tea break (sippie cup included) we were lucky enough to have some lovely shortbread biccies as well before getting back to it. Before we knew it the time was up but we had definitely made a difference in the time that we were there which was very much appreciated. However there is still more work to do so I’m sure another community mission will be lined up soon. With a quick group photo and a chorus of goodbyes we all went off for some much deserved lunch.

Amazing work! Is that Jack I see there too? 👍🏻

You can always rely on Beecroft for the best hospitality.
