On a freezing cold January morning some hardy Good-Gymmers arrived at St. Cuthbert's church bright and early to help out the volunteers there.

St Cuthbert's works with Glass Door, a wonderful charity which partners with 34 churches to provide a warm welcome, food, shelter and stability for up to 170 men and women each night during the winter season.

The church needed a hand returning the main hall back to its original layout. Despite the early hour we enthusiastically got on with unfolding the ten heavy tables, arranging the chairs around them, and setting out the soft seating area.

Within 10 minutes the room was fully transformed and looked great. Perhaps this could be a contender for the quickest mission ever! However the volunteers were very pleased with our help as it would have taken them a long time on their own.
