Mission

How many GoodGymmers does it take to change a lightbulb?

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Liverpool.

Mrs B is at risk of falls, and having returned home after a stay in hospital, she needed help to change the light bulb at the top of her stairs which she just couldn't reach on her own. This was a last minute referral as clearly it needed sorting out as soon as possible for her safety. She had the new light bulb and a small set of steps ready for me when I arrived, and after a bit of sorting out whether the light switch was 'on' or 'off' the task was quickly done. She was pleased that I was able to take the old bulb for recycling too. After a chat about her two cats, one of which likes to live upstairs and the other downstairs, I said my goodbyes and am happy that Mrs B is now that little bit safer at home.

(So the answer is: it takes just one GoodGymmer to change a lightbulb, but the task couldn't be done without coordination between the referrer and the GoodGym Operations team too!)
