The Fantastic Four were last night pounding the streets of Crewe – firstly with our run (well, it was actually more of a walk this evening due to injuries and one thing and another). But a very enjoyable walk it was indeed. Nice weather and lovely company as always. Oh, and discovering parts of Crewe that we didn’t even know existed!

Tonight, Claire, Emily, Maurice and Nicola were tasked with delivering leaflets to a local housing estate. Some members of the community plan to hold a big street party to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee. It will be lovely to bring local residents together but of course, it won’t happen without lots of planning. The aim of the leaflets is to make residents aware of the planning meetings in the hope that they’ll come together to help pull off what should be a wonderful community event.

After our walk, we set off for a bit more walking, pushing leaflets through doors as we went (we also had some additional leaflets promoting Easter activities for the children). I think we probably had about 5 or 600 leaflets in total. Posting the leaflets was the easy part (not too many vicious dogs to contend with, lol!). The hard part was remembering which streets we’d done and which we hadn’t. It’s a bit of a rabbit warren as it is but add very little light to the mix and it makes for a tricky undertaking! I think we did a pretty fine job though and after we’d left a few leaflets in the local chip shop, we got rid of every single one!

Talking of chip shops….. we may have ended the evening with a couple of portions between us…. It would be rude not to after all that walking (we’d earned it!). Emily, Maurice and I tucked in, while Claire showed great willpower and resisted!!! You’re a stronger woman than me Claire! Lol!

All in all, it was another lovely evening in great company. As Emily pointed out, Goodgym is about so much more than the exercise…. it’s about having fun, helping our community and about friendship. I’m so proud of our little Goodgym family and the wonderful friendships that have been formed through this amazing organisation. Thank you Goodgym. We love you!

Well done the fab four! Another incredible night.

Loved being with you as always Nicola xxx
