'Twas the penultimate junior parkrun before Christmas, when all through Woking park there were only a few volunteers stirring.

The crowd was slow to gather for Woking junior parkrun this morning - perhaps parents recovering from Christmas parties and children hesitant to get out of bed! But in the end a total of 64 children started their Sunday morning off with a run.

Alys, Anne and James represented on the GoodGym front - Alys marshalling on the bridge point, Anne marshalling on high-five hill and James helping a young runner try and get a PB (although not on the official roster was still volunteering his time and wearing a suitably bright outfit which rivalled a hi-vis vest)

5 children earned their wristbands this morning and a couple of fellow volunteers had reached their 25 milestone. We were also on double duty handing out leaflets about Shooting Stars Christmas tree collection to anyone who said they have a real Christmas tree up this year!

We'll be getting more of these leaflets out and about to Woking residents this coming Wednesday on our group run - so please do join us as many hands might light work!
