As part of Goodgym Islington's "Make-It-Happen March" challenge, Area Activator Simon set a personal objective to use his morning run/walk as a plogging trip. He brought a portable litter pickers and a couple of large black bags, and scoured the Stroud Green entrance of Finsbury Park for rubbish. The path is located next to some steep slopes, and a high fence next to the main railway line, which acts as a bit of a net for discarded plastic. The daily cleaning teams in the park don't really clean this area as the sloped banks make the grassy spots a bit tricky to get to, but kids often play around here, running up and down the hills.

Within 30 minutes, Simon filled up an 80 ltr bag with plastic, bottles, broken glass and old newspapers, all gathered just around this one stretch of grass and bushes.
