This evening I ventured down to St John’s community garden to lend a helping hand.

On arrival I met up with Alex who explained the task - planting some bulbs which had been kindly donated. Fortunately for me, this task didn’t take too long so I was able to take a tour of the garden and hear all about this project.

Alex explained that the garden had sadly been rather neglected until a few months ago when a couple of volunteers started work on it - clearing the rubbish, weeding and turning the flowerbeds, building walls and sourcing plants and bulbs. The transformation has been pretty amazing, and there are many more exciting plans going forward.

Having discussed various ways goodgym may be able to assist with some of these plans, I said cheerio and jogged home.
