Sara reports: It was an extremely busy clinic today. The arrival of two health pods have given additional challenges for the volunteers to tackle. I was required to take patients weight, height, blood pressure and blood oxygen levels. It was a really interesting learning curve and very worthwhile, as two patients were referred back to their clinic, due to their levels being elevated.

Amy jumped on the same learning curve as Sara on her shift the next day. 'I found it a bit daunting at first but quickly got into the swing of it and enjoyed the interaction with patients. The health pods are a really positive addition to the process. With far fewer people visiting their GP in the last year, there is a risk that dangerous health conditions are not being diagnosed early enough. The pods are like a safety net to pick up worrying symptoms before it is too late.'
