8 Goodgym folks met the team from Octopus Communities Network on the Highbury Quadrant Estate for some Saturday afternoon garden renovation (including new starters Lora and Flora- welcome!)

We traversed past the lovely new (but still setting) pathways linking the community garden shed, and the "meadow" area of the plots to pick up spades, forks, litter pickers, loppers, black bags and a wheel barrow for our task. Half our crew committed to shifting random blocks of brickwork and paving from the main garden space (currently home to a family of foxes 🦊), and picking up any litter they came across.

The rest of the team clipped away at some stubborn brambles covering some more hard core and blocks, to allow access for builders to renovate the area. Patrick filled up many wheelbarrows of spiky plants, and we deposited the green waste in a designated compost pile, to create mulch for later in the year.

We make amazing progress every time we come to this project, and it is so satisfying to see our little woodland start to take shape over the course of 2020. Well done everyone!
