Groceries and garden fences

After a big haul 2 weeks ago, Mrs J was in for another shopping delivery. Again, in glorious sunshine. Due to the hot-hot days of late I had been completing my runs via local shops late at night and was pleased to find the shops as queue-free in the late-night sun as they have been in the morning rays!

In addition to the groceries, we also had some gardening to tackle. Mrs J's daily life had been recently uprooted by roots from a falling tree (no fear, it fell in slow-mo!) causing the dividing fence to collapse, leaving her garden insecure for her little dog. Mrs. J's sole isolating companion and pride and joy, the news her doglet would need to be kept inside other than walks was particularly distressing for Mrs. J, as her own visual impairment, health conditions and numerous obstacles in the front garden & its lack of security meant the one outdoor sanctuary was off-limits, as she would no longer able to let her little pooch (who is also visually impaired.....what is it they say about dogs and owners again?!) wander freely in the garden due to the various obsticles and lack of secured area.

Due to the mounting pressures during the pandemic, while the council happily removed the tree, there was no deadline on when the fence might be fixed. With a green light from local authorities, we were able to erect a temporary fence to re-secure the garden (good-gymer and honary family member from same house hold included!) and tackled the overgrowth at the same time. Certainly soaked up some rays and worked up a sweat while completing the job in hand!

Mrs J was delighted with the new space for her to sit out, with minimal obstacles to worry about for her or the dog, and was very very relieved at the prospect of enjoying the sunshine and regular conversations/contact with her neighbours from a safe distance. She really emphasised how this will help her feelings of isolation and loneliness, which made the buckets of sweat, hayfever and muscle aches from muscles I didn't know excited 100% worthwhile!

Definitely added to my skill set; I don't usually find myself with the need to erect a fence in the lab! Pictures of one very ecstatic doggie in her refreshed garden for extra cuteness.

Look forward to some hot sweaty runs in the week ahead for more groceries!
