Sheila helped out at Nature's Haven on a very warm afternoon. The grasses in the planters had established themselves so well that they were crowding out the other plants. I joined another volunteer in the task of removing them and transplanting them to the bed by the bee hotel where they have much more space to romp away. As we did this, we dug out lots of naughty thistles which had grown from small pieces of root left behind when the bed was dug over.
