Grasping the nettle

Mrs B wanted her overgrown front garden weeded and a bush in the back garden trimmed back. I set to work, pulling up the nettles and brambles, clearing away the rubbish, and cleaning the front windowsill. Mrs B regaled me with some of her poetry, including a verse that she penned on the spot for an anniversary card for her neighbours - my favourite line was 'embracing one another like peas in a pod'. I then went round to the back and trimmed back a bush that was starting to make a bid for freedom over the neighbours' fence. Mrs B was very pleased with the front garden and is planning to grow some potatoes and flowers now that there is space again.
