With the weather being a lot cooler today this was the ideal task for our team of volunteers to get stuck into.

It was very nice to meet my good friend Shaun, who I volunteered with during Covid to deliver food parcels from our local Foodbank to vulnerable local neighbours.

GoodGym visited the Bowling Green in Barking to help out with the creation of a community herbalist network - growing and learning about herbs and herbal remedies.

We were with Shaun and Company Drinks Grow Club to assist with preparing growing beds in order to help anyone in the network to learn to grow and use herbs.

We shared good banter amongst ourselves and shifted quite a few wheelbarrows full of soil to fill the beds.

Shaun pulled a rabbit out of the hat with delicious, ice cold, elderflower cordial. We both shared these with our Foodbank drops last year and I now realise what a treat it was for our patrons.

The shift was a very enjoyable one, in pleasant surroundings and top company.

Thanks Company Drinks for hosting us and we hope to be working with you all again soon.
