Report written by Huw Davies
With many regulars from the group missing due to half term holidays, illness and the Leicester Comedy Festival, six runners made their way along Route 6 of the National Cycle Network to clear litter.
We were delighted to welcome Sheila on her first run with the group and Huw was particularly pleased to have a fellow cricket addict as part of the group! Well done Sheila on a great first run, we'd love to see you back again soon!
After a steady run along Route 6 to our destination, Michaela, Jeanette, Irene, Jimmy, Sheila and Huw set to work clearing a 700m section from St Margaret's Way down into Abbey Park.
Bags filled with a variety of litter and deposited, we returned via The Rally for some progressive laps, with Jimmy really kicking for home on the final lap when he discovered the loop was a Strava segment! Maybe a segment record attempt will be in order next time to match the records set by Carlos and Katy on the segment at St Matthew's a few weeks ago.
Brilliant work from everyone tonight, keep an eye on the website over the next couple of days for an update on next week's run as due to circumstances beyond our control we ran next week's run this week!
An interesting stat, tonight we broke through 900 good deeds done by Leicester GoodGymmers since we launched. How quick can we get to four figures I wonder?
Also look out for news in the weekly fitness email later in the week on a new process for getting involved with community missions that should make them much more accessible for us.
