On an overcast Sunday morning, a small team of intrepid Good Gymers ventured into a Feltham jungle - the garden of Dr M - armed with secateurs, a broom and gloves, ready for Battle of the Brambles. It was difficult to know where to start but we decided to split up and attack the garden from different directions. Luis tackled the weeds in the front garden whilst Tatty started on weeding the patio in the back garden and Michelle swept up all the leaves to create a clear path into the garden. This was quickly tested when Dr M came out to inspect our work, accompanied with a photo to show us - an action shot of him running a half marathon in his 80s! What a legend!

A little while later, we brought in some back-up in the shape of Will who got to work on chopping back some of the larger plants along the back wall - he reappeared towards the end of the task covered in burdock but a successful session! Luis came to join the army in the back garden to provide some assistance with our attack on the taller plants.

Our final battle was with a very thorny plant that refused to join the rest of its mates in the black bin bags until we got the big guns (and gloves) out! A successful mission, we managed to fill several bin bags and Dr M's garden should remain clean & tidy for a couple of months before we may need to return for another war on the weeds. Winter is coming...
