The three best things about last night's group run was the turnout, the long and scenic route to the Patchwork Farm site in Stoke Newington and the great progress the farmers and local community have made to clear the site - with our help!

It's a grand task for these urban farmers. They have to shift 14 cubic metres of low grade concrete before building raised beds and actually growing lots of delicious salad to supply Hackney. The work here continues next week, but we're nearly there!! Some of the last pieces of concrete were lifted and bagged by a high spirited group of GoodGym runners.

Twenty minutes in, we had made a huge dent into the remaining work. We had a total body workout - with loads of squatting, lunging, lifting, pushing, dragging and pulling. No muscle went unturned, and the the long run there and speedy run back to our base - Coffee Is My Cup of Tea - meant we'd had a decent cardiovascular workout too. Not bad in one hour and twenty minutes!

The 'bestest' thing about last night was seeing the improvement in people's running speed and stamina. The 6k run was challenging enough for beginners and more advanced runners who took the run home at speed.

Look forward to next week's run already!
