Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gill (She/her)
Gill was on hand yet again to support with the food collection from Sainsbury's and Aldi, ready to take it to the cooking team at FoodCycle. Thankfully she was supported by Tim, one of GoodGym's loyal supporters as there was so much food from Sainsbury's this week they needed both their cars to transport it. Sainsbury's were pleased that we were able to take so much either to cook with or to distribute to those in need, as they would otherwise have had to dispose of it.
There was also a large amount of fruit yogurt, which she has taken home and will be turning into fro-yo tomorrow to return to FoodCycle another week when the weather is warmer.
They then stopped off at Aldi, and having had very little produce form them last week, were surprised to have a trolly full as well as a huge number of oat biscuits too.
FoodCycle use food that would otherwise go to waste and put on a free social dinner for anyone who wants to come along, whether hungry or lonely, they welcome everyone to come for dinner and meet other people
