I did another mealtime assistant volunteering shift at work and although it wasn’t Friday there were some orders for the Friday classic...Fish, chips and peas.

I was back on the high risk COVID ward I worked on, on Tuesday, so it was nice to be recognised by the patients. The usual ward host, Edna, was on leave, so I worked with Nadia, this time who had her own routine for prepping the trays and delivering the meals so this time I made sure each tray had cutlery and condiments and the dessert option that had been ordered, whilst Nadia prepped the hot food. Once the trays were ready I delivered them to the patients bedside tables. Once the patients had finished lunch I collected the empty trays and washed them up ready for the next service.
