With my plans for a family day in London scuppered by new Tier 3 COVID restrictions, I had an unexpected day free for volunteer Gardening at Hounslow Mosque for the wonderful and indomitable Ruby.

It was fantastic to see the progress that has been made landscaping around the huge car park at the back of the Mosque, with two lawn areas seeded and the long bed on the far side almost completely cleared and ready for planting.

After a couple of hours litter picking and clearing rubbish, I set about weeding the bed in front of the ball court. It was hard physical work, not helped when rain set in, but it’s now clear and ready for planting next week.
