Orsetta at Urban Growth gave the six of us a fab welcome to Brixton Orchard. We had a health and safety debrief then set to digging holes. And weeding. And bindweed eliminating. But mainly digging holes. We all had a go - to varying degrees of sweaty brows and required biscuit breaks.

This was all in aid of erecting fence posts, to make the Orchard entrance clearer to passers by. The hope is it'll become a thoroughfare for commuters, on their way to the tube station...Injection a little green into your commute!

It's a lovely spot, full of fruit trees (go figure, it's an Orchard...). Plus some friendly volunteer faces every Thursday (get involved if you like via Urban Growth). We did attract the attention of passers by too, as it's a, um, thoroughfare to the tube...Most passersby were keen to get involved or to throw us some words of encouragement - thanks Brixton, stay friendly.

Selina and Amy are relatively new recruits to GoodGym, and we could not have done it without them. Together with the regulars - Victoria, Freyja and Tessa, and visiting Wandsworth GoodGymmer Oliver, we all dug away in the blazing heat. Until next time.
