On one of the hottest days of the year, GoodGym Bristol decided to go crazy and get even hotter. For this week’s run we were heading to Bramble Hill Farm in Knowle. We met at the Folk House at 6.30 and after a quick warm up headed to the task. This weeks route took us through the harbourside, full of people enjoying the sun with a beer – pah! – into Bedminster and through Victoria Park. As we went through the park we started the climb up into Knowle, tough work in the hot weather. We paused to gather our breath, cool down a bit and carry out some dynamic stretching.

Bramble Hill Farm is an amazing community smallholding. We had a quick look at the pigs and goats and then got into our task which was to clear an area of ground. To up the heat some more a fire was lit, so we could put the branches and brambles straight into the fire. After 20 minutes hard work we had cleared a really large area and it was time to head off again. After an spectacular jumping photo on the top of the hill we headed back down, through Victoria Park and St Mary Radcliffe and back to the Folk House.

All in all a great run, and real dedication and determination was shown by all the runners new and old, and it definitely paid off!
