My previous good deed overran, the clock showing 17:51, so it was a race against time to travel the five and a half miles from Acton to Hounslow to get to Mrs H’s for a six o’clock mission.

I gave Mrs H a call, explained I was running a bit late - and I took her shopping list over the phone, with her grandson interpreting as Mrs H’s English wasn’t too great. Once we had established what was needed, it was ready, pitta bready, GO, and I took a speedy cycle down the A315 to Morrison’s. It was a miracle as I parked up to find there was not only no queue to get in, but all the items requested were in stock. Couldn’t have had butter luck! In, out and paid for in record time.

Off I went again, bags slightly heavier thanks to the cleaning supplies and coffee, and whizzed round to Mrs H’s to deliver her groceries, knocking at the door at 18:40! Another successful task for this cereal GoodGymmer, and to top things off, I got to cycle home in the glorious spring sunshine.
