After an 8km run in the morning I joined my friend Rich for a litter pick around Hawkesley (hence the loose pun!) in South Birmingham.

This was their first organised litter pick and they plan on doing them on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We were met by Gemma who was so organised and had all the equipment. We headed out a little after the others, which meant keeping a real eye out to make sure every last bit of rubbish was picked up.

Over 30 bags of rubbish collected by everyone overall! A fabulous first pick for the team, it was lovely to show some support and get great feedback from the locals.

It can be isolating and hard work litter picking alone, so it's great we can do this in groups again!
