(Although, according to our handy sything guide that we were given to help us with the task, a person who uses a sythe is actually called a mower.) 8 goodgymers went to help Holgate Community Garden tidy up the garden. Zinnie and Mitch started with the sything the wildflower area, deftly managing to avoid felling the baby oak. Jon then did a great job of sything the bank once Andy had lopped all the obstacles with Leanne, Laura and Andy taking turns to help. Katie took the lead on weeding the bark chip around the basket swing with others joining her at different points including Tiptoes, a local cat. Leanne decided that sything around the honeysuckle by the notice board was too risky so she carefully sheared the area which looked much better by the time she'd finished. David did a litter pick around the area and then helped rake and sweep up the cuttings. By the time we'd finished the garden looked much tidier.
