Despite the drizzle Ruth and David had an eggs-ellent Saturday afternoon helping the amazing volunteers and residents of Stamford Road to set up their local park for a family Easter egg hunt later that afternoon.

Running to Tottenham Hale from Hackney and South London respectively we had clocked up a fair few miles between us before setting about the task. Working as a team we emptied the van of all the equipment, put up 3 large gazebos, set up tables and chairs and decorated the park with bunting, whilst other volunteers hid the Easter eggs around the park and set up arts & crafts and snack stations.

Once set up was complete and the first kids started to arrive we bid fair well to Leyla and her team (with a few Creme Eggs to take away!)

It was amazing to learn about all the community initiatives that they are involved in in bringing people from all walks of lives and different cultures together in the community to bring about positive change and we were both glad to have been of help!
