A super six took to the streets this evening, running up, up, up to Westow Park and covering 4km along the way.

Thank you Bradley for this beautifully apt title pun, the first time he has shared his punning skills!

While we were lying in bed, chilling, on Sunday morning, Louise, Stuart and Clare were off around Denbies Wine Estate, taking part in the Bacchus Half-Marathon. As you can see from Louise's photos, this is a delightfully relaxed event, with the aid stations being wine-tasting stations, complete with tasty snacks. Bradley quickly suggested a team for next year (although some of the costume ideas might need work ;) ).

Tonight's task was taking us up the hill (and it's a steep one) to Westow Park, so we needed to warm up. Finding a spot in Crystal Palace Park, we played some 'Everyone's It' and did a fair bit of squatting. I thought it might break up the elevation gain if we went up the steps in the park, but really, that's no easier than a steep hill! Great work from everyone, pushing right to the top. When we arrived we were met by Cathy and Donald, who had strung some white string along the edges of the large beds, to guide us in tidying the grass along here. We grabbed various tools and set to, some weeding, some edging and some picking up bits of litter.

As we worked we talked races, with the Beckenham Half-Marathon coming up very soon, the Petts Wood 10k not long after and cross country season on the horizon, if you're into that sort of thing. We also talked about the fading light, as we tried to spot the tools left on the ground and to clear up any cuttings from the path. The darkness is now descending about twenty minutes earlier than last week :(

Saying our goodbyes until next spring, we ran back up and out, finding ourselves back at Crystal Palace Park (waving goodbye to Paul as we went). In the most lit-up space we could find, we worked in pairs, with a lot of high-fiving, press-upping, burpeeing, Jack jumping and planking, to build strength and to finish us off for the evening.

Next week's task is currently being confirmed, but will most likely need head-torches, so please bring one if you have one (I have a few spares) and sign up here to be in with the chance of an evening of fun.
