Two GG Yorkies ran 9km to help Ms M move her bed back to her bedroom now that she is well enough to use the stairs.

Our instructions from GG central were to check out Egg and Lizzie's run report for instructions on how to dismantle the hospital bed as they had moved it downstairs a few weeks before. The run report wasn't particularly detailed so I got a few more tips from Egg. She advised us to unplug all of the wires, remember where they went, and then look for the levers to release the head and foot boards.

Are you sure it isn't a bomb we're defusing? (Paul Kelly)

On arrival we quickly managed to unplug the wires and release the locking collars at the head and foot of the bed. The mythical levers were nowhere to be seen. While Paul Kelly started watching a video on how to assemble the bed (which didn't seem to help because we wanted to dismantle it), I carried on carefully inspecting the frame for levers.

Just as I was messaging Egg for more information about the location of the levers, Ms M's daughter came to the rescue by experimenting with lifting the headboard out of the frame. It turned out that the levers we were looking for, weren't sticks that you pull, they were the locking collars that we'd released before we even started looking for levers!

Paul Kelly's internet research hadn't gone to waste - he discovered that we could also split the base into two parts, making it much lighter and easier to carry up the stairs.

We made fast work of putting the bed back together, and checking that all the mechanisms worked. Then we bid farewell to Ms M, who is looking forward to sleeping in her own bedroom tonight.

Thank you for persevering with the bed, and all the wires and collars... I'm sure Ms M was very grateful! Thanks!
