Bank holiday Monday and with the original task rearranged what's a group of Goodgymmers to do but pick up their litter pickers and set about clearing the streets by the original task. Lodge Lane - it's a busy street, vibrant and lively , delicious tempting smells coming from the many restaurants and people using the communal spaces for picnics and the street to go about their dally lives. However there is sadly a lot of litter.

The thing about litter picking is the people you get talking to people: People asking about Goodgym, the family who told us about their particular area that they are focusing on to try to keep litter clear, the shop owner offering us drinks and thanking us for making the effort, the person telling us about how the area has changed in his lifetime, the young man who complimented and thanked one of the Goodgymmers.

The other thing about litter picking is that there is always that comedy find - tonight we found two brush heads (both had seen better days) however it didn't stop there being a lot of banter as one of our Liverpool crew (who still remains nameless) has become the legend of broken brushes (see previous reports from Everton Park for clues to this legend)

And the other thing about litter picking..... in no time 8 bags of rubbish had been collected plus a swing bin lid - we had all had some exercise and we returned home happier healthier and through cleaner streets.
