It was dark, it was cool, in fact, certifiably chilly, and a bunch of happy Chelmsford runners, plus one Colchester ringer met at the ARU for a lovely night of Goodgyming fun.

As I was leading the run, but don't know my way around Chelmsford at all, Kate volunteered to lead the run whilst I back marked. We congratulated Laurie on over 1 minute off her parkrun pb, and 10 minutes off since she first started parkrun, then we set off on our merry way. This was quite a long run for a Goodgym evening, so we did a warm up on the way, running with heel kicks and a bit of skipping.

Eventually we got to the site, which was just next to the Helen Rollason Cancer Centre, and begun our work, which involved digging out spaces which would become seating areas, and transferring soil to different locations. It was a really big task, but we got loads done with 8 people. There's still LOADs more to do though!

After the digging was done, we posed for photos before the 4km run back to base.

A challenging task, and a long run, but we all felt good afterwards! Definitely the best way to spend a Wednesday evening!
