On a beautifully sunny Friday afternoon, this one brave adventurer took on the challenge of battling a ferocious jungle of thorns (it was a singleplayer mission, nobody can discredit my valour, okay?)

The quest giver (mission control) had warned me that this particular encounter was plagued with a minor glitch, leaving some of the thorny branches clipping through the boundary walls into other player's game spaces (specifically the neighbour's garden).

Armed with my steel secateurs of courage and equipped with magical heavy duty garden gloves I set to work, hacking back at the large weeds including branches which were as thick as my thumb.

Time was whizzing by quickly as I broke down the large sections of bramble, slicing them with skill into smaller pieces and stashing them in my inventory (a green plastic container I ferried back and forth to the garden bin).

Before I knew it, I was facing the greatest boss battle of my adventuring career: facing the sprawling gargantuan root of rubus. With my trusty garden fork, I fought hard, banishing the evil influence of the thorny monster. Exhausted and triumphant, I raised the severed root, knowing my bravery would be remembered.

Following this, I found myself on a minor side quest, after clearing many of the brambles, it was noted that a sleeping (and then very awake and slightly grouchy) hedgehog had spawned in the area. After a brief discussion with the person's family, it was agreed to wrap up the quest, allowing the hedgehog to relocate to another area of the garden in peace.

Quest complete! Report back to the local tavern to receive your reward!
