Great to see Juli, Sula and Tessa today for a lunchtime session at the [Driven Forward}(http://www.drivenforward.co.uk/) ex-Community Fridge/future Community Hub trailer. As always Tiia was very welcoming and full of energy.

The Community Fridge has now moved to the old pink bakery in Oxford Road, near Windsor boys school. Much more than just a fridge, it is now (we think) the UK's first free supermarket, diverting food waste from landfill and helping the local community. We were so impressed to hear that even food that is not taken by customers doesn't go to landfill. Stale bread goes to the Swan Sanctuary and other food waste is collected for pig feed. Do check out the new site and enjoy some free food! Tiia said there is everything from peaches to fennel in stock.

The trailer that used to house the Community Fridge will be taking on a new lease of life as the Community Hub. Exactly what this offers will be shaped by the local community as part of the Embedding Community Response Project which 'empowers individuals within the community by helping them to recognise and develop their skills and knowledge (...) to build on existing local resources to strengthen the local area'. Tiia has suggested there might be cookery classes, online learning, free hairdressing and more.

The trailer is also hosting a special event on Sunday for National Thank you day, so this gave us a deadline to get the everything looking spick and span.

Juli tackled the inside of the trailer with great gusto, wiping down all the surfaces, peeling off stubborn cellotape and mopping the floor. Sula gave the outside the same treatment. She's not tall, but she works in aviation so she just flew up to the high bits and left the whole thing gleaming like a private jet.

Meanwhile Tessa and Amy weeded, litter picked and swept in the surrounding area, as well as tidying away a big stack of crates and some tables and speculating on whether the Queen might have spotted us from her window.

Well done team and good luck to Tiia with Sunday's event. We can't wait to see how the Community Hub develops too!
