Check in and chat

My elderly neighbour has recently lost her husband. My dad usually does the check in and chat but he was on holiday. He tried to call her but there was no answer. He asked me to check in on her. I went around and rang the doorbell I had to wait a while for a response. When she answered the door, she explained she was asleep. I apologised for wakening her, but we were worried something bad had happened as the phone was disconnected. I made her a cup of tea and made sure the phone was connected. I told her that my dad will be ringing her later.
