A very wet and muddy task in Stockwood this afternoon as Mr P wanted a bit of landscape gardening doing. He seemed to be under the impression that I knew what I was doing - big mistake Mr P! - though when I explained that i was just a bit of voluntary unskilled labour looking for a good workout, he gave me his idea of what needed doing.

This involved moving a large slab of concrete which had previously been the base of a garden shed, digging a big hole with a combination of pick axe and heavy duty spade and then digging up a bush from one side of the garden and repositioning it in said hole.

I realised that a bush that has been growing for 5 years really isn't going to allow itself to be dug up without a fight but got there eventually amidst some blood, mud, sweat and tears, as the heavens opened. The heavy clay based soil was sticking to my trainers and all the garden tools, making the task increasingly difficult and eventually Mr P called time and suggested that we leave the rest for another day - much to my relief!

We agreed that hopefully we'll meet again on a brighter, sunnier day and hopefully the bush will still be alive too in it's new position!
