Another top evening with East London's most productive running outfit. A hearty 16 of us this week, bolstered by two new runners, Kirsty and Jordan, seamlessly getting involved in the task, hope you had an enjoyable time. Brad returned from the wilderness, seriously, they sent search parties out for you man...lovely having you back.

Before we started propelling our legs back and forth, we had a wee warm up and did our weekly random question bit. "What cartoon character would you be/do you identify with?" This question exposed a chasm of knowledge in my cartoon expertise - barely knew any of them! But I take confidence that you guys generally know more than me...Tim's answer, Bender from Futurama, was a winner for me. Something so right about it!

Our urban meander through the heart of Newham took 20mins. Never a boring a moment going through Stratford - the streets are always alive. Arrived 7.40pm at our destination, then a touch of faffing to get in. AppleCart Theater is an old community centre, a gorgeous large old building, being restored with tender love and care. With a community cafe and meeting rooms, it's very much a hub and meeting point for the local residents. Always a joy to see good people doing good things, especially in times of austerity. Clarissa is one of a small team of four...crowdfunding and working long hours to get this project off the ground. I look forward to returning there soon and offering them the infinite energy of the GoodGym tribe.

As the pictures showcase, you guys made a whopping difference in just under 30mins, even more impressive considering the distracting Christmas songs....(it's stuck in my head , PLEASE HELP!!!). Clarissa seemed genuinely bewildered at how much you did in that little window of efficiency - as am I. Thanks again for your efforts team.

Next week's session is a classic, but a goody. Over to Cody Dock again, with a serene and flat canal route there. There is also a social to finish, did someone say pizza and beers?! We could potentially use the Pizza Oven too, set amongst the gorgeous dockland surroundings. Let's check the weather first! Sign up here

Have a great weekend and good luck at the team Parkrun on Saturday, in Hackney Marshes, 9am!

Till next week,

B
