Set against the sweeping landscapes of Rhossili Cliffs and The Gower Peninsula, this epic love story tells of 22 young runners - who meet in the summer of 2019 while cutting fern on a cliff range. They unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love – for running.

As a team we collectively took on the wild, from blistering heat to bogs and water blocking our journey. Not to be perturbed we continued our mission on through the wilderness with extra distance. While sharing a backbreaking work load, shortages of food, and wild animal attacks from our very own sheep – Ed Sheerin'.

With the extra miles we became even closer, and so time for a bonding photo. Soon was the heart break as we said goodbye to two of the group, but we all continued down to Rhossili beach where we were running with the Ultra runners. After a leg burning climb up the cliffs to the top we certainly did reach new heights.

The backbreaking work began, armed with sickles, machetes and slashers we took to the bracken. Who knew what would be uncovered from the depths of wilderness, from bags to skulls and the occasional wild flower.

Once again it was time for more goodbyes, as the option of a coach was offered at the halfway mark. We said ‘hwyl’ to 7 more and off we went, heading bracken’ to the campsite. Those speedier headed off in one group and another stayed a bit back chatting. With a slightly altered route we went our separate ways, maybe a little less trail but plenty of hills and challenges along the way.

And so to a night of boozing, dancing and shooting the breeze. When the festival ended, the twenty-two runners separate and continue with their lives..

Until next years trip
