Bright smiles on a grey day

A visit to Mrs. M is wonderful no matter the weather. On a rainy afternoon, I went over with some cake (it's starting to become a naughty habit!) and we enjoyed it with coffee while looking out at the pouring rain. As always, Mrs M chatted away, making me laugh with her stories of "the miserable shopkeeper" and the "aunty who always brought back gravy from dinner parties". 😂 😂 😂

I complimented her on her outlook on life and how she doesn't moan about anything. Wisely, she said, "life's too short, isn't it? You have to be thankful for what you had even if it is not here anymore". 💕

I took out her recyclables, dropped her note to the next door neighbour and said fond farewells. Rest of the cake - in individually packed packets - will be continued next Sunday :) 🍰
