5 GoodGymers helped out on a blustery cold Sunday morning in Florence Park!

Ruth gave the first timers briefing, Ben lead the Warm up, Trev Started the race, Sarah and Anna marshalled and jangled and shook instruments as the kids ran past!

Thanks for helping and very appreciated to have continued GoodGym support at FPJPR

The new Avenue of 6 Elm Trees is in memory of Jan Seed, who was chair of LEAF the low carbon action group in Florence park.. many of us knew her in the area

More photos and Amy's Report here : " 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 #𝟰𝟯 – 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 🥁 Huzzah, another junior parkrun! Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun with us this morning, big people and little people alike. Here's your weekly run-down (sorry) of events, including another lovely set of photos from photographer Karen... https://photos.app.goo.gl/6CvcmzrXR7uaAyga8

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀: 52 juniors, all but 2 of whom remembered their barcode this week! Did you know we can now scan barcodes off phones? If you forget your printed barcode or wristband, you can log into your parkrun profile and retrieve it from their instead 📲

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀: 1 junior completed their first ever junior parkrun with us! Welcome to the parkrun family George 👋 Thea also joined us for the first time from Wood Green juniors. We hope you enjoyed your visit!

𝗢𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Percussion! Like every good music teacher, Trev arrived with a pannier full of tambourines and maracas, which were duly distributed amongst the marshals 🎶 Gosia chose her instrument particularly carefully, opting in the end for a particularly jingley tambourine, both because it matched her Rudolph socks and because she was marshaling the final corner where the juniors need the most vigorous encouragement 📣

𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: No frost this week but there was s strong breeze that threatened to blow our cones over 🌬 A good turn-out of hats this week, including from RD Trev who went all in for a Santa hat in training for our Christmas fancy dress event on 19th December 🧑‍🎄

𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗺-𝘂𝗽: Ben was the volunteer keeping us on our toes this morning. Ben had run to Florence Park, so he was perfectly placed to get us all moving before the start 🏃

𝗣𝗕𝘀: 11 juniors set new personal best times, and we saw a number of sprint finishes at the funnel 🤠 Great walking and running all round!

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀: Two! Well done to Grace on completing 21 junior parkruns and receiving her marathon wristband, and to Isaac on reaching his marathon milestone – that'san incredible 50 junior parkruns 😮 We've spotted several milestones coming up in the results! Drop us an email at florencepark-juniors@parkrun.com if your junior is due to receive a wristband - we'll add them to our list to present when you next pay us a visit.

𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗿: Nicola and Charlie were in orange this week and enjoyed a jog round in the chilly wind 💫 Thank you for making sure everyone completed the course safely!

𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀: 20 hi-vis heroes made event #43 happen. In addition to our Tail Walkers, we had a family effort on tokens at the finish funnel – great job Team Bower 👏 Nerys also volunteered with us for the first time today whilst her little charges sped round the course. Thank you Nerys – your support is hugely appreciated!

We always welcome new volunteers, whether you want to help out regularly or just as a one-off. We have plenty of roles that are ideal if you have a junior taking part in the event! Drop us an email at the address above if you'd like to get involved. Event #44 next week – and it's our birthday! We're turning 2 and we'll have sweet treats to celebrate. Come and party with us 🎈 #loveparkrun "

Do volunteer in next few weeks we have Florence Park's * Birthday Run * Christmas Run * Boxing Day Run
