The weather was amazing Saturday morning, perfect for a team of cheery volunteers to get their hands stuck in at the Berry Maze. The Bristol Food Network was running the Get Growing Garden Trail 22 and Barney had requested some additional help during the event to promote volunteering in the maze, something we're all experts in by now.

The harsh summer meant the bushes were light on berries, but there were still a few here and there - not a complete bust! We had the usual tasks, though some were extra tricky this time. We all had a turn at smashing fence posts in the ground, which Sarah and Dave did a fantastic job wiring up. Sarah showed off her dexterity by nailing the new wires to the posts with a hammer, which in my opinion might be the most tedious job on the planet. Nice one!

We then took to weeding and clearing up the patches, while I mowed the lawns with the world's loudest lawnmower. note to self - bring some WD 40 next time.

Towards the end, another of one of Barney's many projects was in trouble - a gazebo that needed erecting! It was on my route home so I offered to help. Massive thanks to Jenny for keeping an eye on things for me! <3

Cheers to everyone that came along and stayed for the extended session!
