Bedtime Story

Brr, chilly ❄☃️! Mridula, Nykolette and Gosia met up in Lewisham today to visit Mr A. His wife is being discharged from a hospital very soon and he needed help in making a space for her hospital bed in the bedroom 🛏.

After saying 'hello' and taking a moment to delight ourselves with an indoor warm 🌡 and coziness, we proceeded to the task. The action was quite simple - we separated the first half of a double bed and made it securely lean against the wall. The second half stayed as it was before, for Mr A to keep sleeping in. Then, we helped him make his bed - tucking in the sheets under the bed, putting on blankets and a pillow.

We smashed the task in around half hour and Mr A couldn't think of anything else more to do. We stayed for a bit longer though just to talk a bit more. To do that we moved to Mr A's incredibly good looking classy style home office. While we were admiring his library 📚 and furnishings in the room, he shared with us stories about his younger years. Amongst them, he told us about him and a friend witnessing a parachute mine falling down during WW II just few meters from where they were standing.

In this sentimental, emotional spirit he also played us a quick jazzy music piece on the piano, saying that he learned how to play mostly by himself still not knowing very well how to read the notes 🎶🎹.

We left Mr A's house late and quite reluctantly. None of us wanted to get back to that cold weather but also we were charmed and touched 🙂 by his stories and a great enthusiasm for sharing all these precious memories with us this evening.
