Beckenham Green Fingers

A new task for GoodGym Bromley - we connected with the Friends of Beckenham Green last month and were keen to join them for their gardening sessions looking after this nice public space in the heart of Beckenham.

I ran down to the Green to meet Ian and a small group of the Friends, whose tasks for the morning were to take out fallen leaves from some flowerbeds and pull up brambles in a few spots on the edge of the Green where the Friends would like to uncover an old path for use once again.

After introductions and inducting me with a shiny green jacket, I got stuck in raking those leaves. And what luck - the soil was soft after a bit of rain, so many of the brambles came out with a good tug, roots and all!
