Considering it was bucketing it down with rain all day, the Woking GoodGym group would be forgiven for thinking the task of laying bark on the parkrun course would be cancelled. But alas, we are not fairweather people and Holly, James, Sally-Anne and Rebecca showed up as planned. We did a reconnaissance of the parkrun course, which having dried out the past few weeks, was extremely wet. Therefore, we decided to make a start with the task. Also helped by the fact it stopped raining.

Armed with two wheelbarrows, one spade, one fork and four buckets we pitched together to shift the bark onto the wettest parts of the course. Ignoring the mould spores growing in the bark we chatted away while working, including sharing tips on fueling during long distance cycles for vegans. Many hands make light work and before sunset we managed to cover a lot more of the puddles than we first expected. Perhaps because strong man James managed to carry four buckets at once!

Initially concerned we would not have enough bark, there is still plenty left for another GoodGym task. So we look forward to seeing you there soon.
